You control the level of access for each user type defined in ASAP and can create as many user types as needed. Watch this comprehensive walk through of the User Access settings in ASAP 4 for complete details. You can read more on the purpose and details of each access setting here.
Add a user type
By default, ASAP is configured with 3 user types, Administrator, Instructor, and Registrar. You can add additional user types as needed.
- On the Navigation menu, click Set Up, and then click User Access.
- Click the User Types tab.
- On the page menu, click .
- Give your user type a name and a code.
- Click .
Now you need to assign the appropriate access to your user type.
Assign user access
This is the same process you use if you are assigning or changing user access.
Prerequisite: the user type is created. See Add a user type.
- On the Navigation menu, click Set Up, and then click User Access.
- Click the User Access tab.
- Select the user type from the list.
- Scroll through each of the options and select Active for those areas you are assigning access. Remember to expand the areas that have sub-options.
NOTE: If the top level is set to Inactive, the module will not appear at all in the left menu and all sub-levels will be inaccessible.
