The holiday feature in the calendar is built with the capacity to tell the system that classes will not be held on holidays. If, however, classes were created before the calendar was configured, holidays will not be shown on the class schedules. In this situation, if you wish to show holidays, you will need to regenerate that class schedule. In order to do this, search and select the class that you intend to regenerate schedule for, and go to the class detail page. From the drop down menu “I want to” select “Edit this class”, and Save the class without making any changes to it. This will regenerate the schedule for that class, and holidays will now show in the schedule tab on the class detail page.
If the classes are created after the calendar is configured, holidays will be shown on the class schedule and any class instance (meeting) that falls on a holiday will be excluded from any scheduled meeting dates.
If you don’t want to exclude that class instance and do in fact want to hold a class meeting on that holiday, you can change that instance status from holiday to active. In order to do this, select the class that you want to make changes to, go to the class detail page and click on the schedule tab in the class roster. On the right hand side you will see “Exclude” links. Locate your holiday session and click on “exclude” next to it. This will change the link to “include”. Now click on “include” and this will change your class instance to active.
