Many organizations charge a service fee (aka convenience fee) that is charged to their customers, to offset the costs of online registration or payment gateway processing fees. We allow Service Fees for any reason deemed necessary by the client that abides by and is consistent with the laws of the state they reside in and offer services in. The client is responsible for following the rules and laws of their state(s).
How ConnexPoint service fees work:
- These fees can be added as a percentage of the customer’s invoice total, a flat fee per transaction, or both.
- You can choose to set a different service fee for Card versus ACH payment, or they can be identical.
- Fees can ONLY be setup for online transactions (Credit/Debit cards and/or ACH). Offline payment types will NOT see this fee added.
- The fee will be added to transactions made on your Go Site AND within ASAP admin. There is no way to setup for Go site ONLY or ASAP admin ONLY.
- The individual fee will calculate once a payment method is selected and will appear on the invoice, once the payment is completed. A separate line item will display the fee on the Go Site and on the invoice.
- There is NO option to make specific activities (classes, lessons, products, etc) exempt from the fee.
Examples of what will work:
- I want to charge the same 3% + $.50 fee for Card and ACH purchases
- I want to charge 2.5% + $1 for Cards purchases, and 1% for ACH purchases
- I want to charge a 3.99% for Card purchases only
- I want to charge a 2% for ACH purchases only
- I want to charge $3 for Card purchases only
- I want to charge $1 for ACH purchases only
Examples of what will NOT work:
- I ONLY want to charge a fee for Go Site transactions, NOT ASAP admin
- I ONLY want to charge a fee for ASAP admin transactions, NOT Go site
- I want offline payments to be charged a fee
- I want a fee added for every shopping cart item included in the transaction. Example, I purchase 3 class registrations in a single transaction and want to charge $1 per class ($3 total).
- I only want Classes to receive the % fee, not Products/Lessons/Events/etc.
How to set this up:
If you want to add or modify an existing service fee, you will need to contact Customer Support via email and we will configure this for you. Please specify the percentage and/or flat fee you would like, and if that applies to Card and/or ACH payments.
