What is a Rolling Lesson?
Rolling lessons is a way to copy enrollments from one Time Period to another Time Period. For example, let’s say that I manage a school that has 1000 Private Lesson enrollments in Fall 2014. I know that the Spring 2014 Time Period is coming around, and I don’t want to create 1000 new enrollments all over again. Instead of repeating this process, I can simply roll the existing enrollments from one Time Period (i.e. Fall 2014) to another (i.e. Spring 2014). This will copy all the data from the original enrollments into the new Time Period, and I will be able to generate invoices afterward.
What if I don’t want to roll ALL my lessons from one Time Period?
We have a few ways of preventing unwanted rolling. First, on the Private Lesson Enroll page (PLEnroll.aspx), you may select to disable rolling for a particular enrollment. For example, let’s say you know that a student only wants to take lessons for one Time Period. With this functionality, you can simply disable any future rolling of the enrollment, and then the enrollment is automatically blocked from any rolling. You may even include it in a batch to roll in bulk, and that enrollment will be excluded from the rolling process.
Secondly, the rolled enrollments do not come with invoices. Rather, the administrator must choose to generate the invoices. This means that, before the customers see the invoices, the administrator may edit any of the enrollments. To edit enrollments, simply go to Private Lessons > Enrollments (PLEnrollments.aspx), and then click the “Edit” link. All of the rolled lessons are editable until an invoice has been both generated and fully paid.
