Those using the Private Lesson module can create their own attendance types, and manage which of the default codes they use.
Making changes to your attendance types
Your new attendance types are available under Configure - Setup Data.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page until you find the following section:
(This is an abbreviated view)
Each attendance type has three properties that can be set:
1. Creates makeup - when attendance is taken using a code with this value checked then the system will generate a new unscheduled lesson automatically
2. Teacher is paid - when attendance is taken using a code with this value checked then the system will treat this as a valid record for payroll
3. Student is present - when attendance is taken using a code with this value checked then the system will treat the system as having been present for the lesson
Taking attendance
Now when taking attendance your users will see only your customized attendance types in the attendance dropdown and the subsequent actions in ASAP will be tied to the properties configured for the selected attendance type
Transitioning to Custom Codes
You may continue to use the existing set of default attendance codes. If you do wish to move over to your own codes, or some combination of the two, we recommend selecting a date on which instructors should begin to use your custom codes and phasing out the old default codes and communicating that early and often to faculty. You will be able to delete any old default codes that have not been used.
